Crucifixion with the Virgin and saint John the Evangelist.
Pointed trefoils. Border of dentils.

Institution's opinion 2014: French, 14th century; mount: 15th-16th century.

Hinges
Traces of two missing hinges on the left side.

Reverse
Brass frame decorated with a rose design and inscription 'St Michael'.

Object Condition
Very worn. Cracked.

Provenance
Hotblack collection: donated by Mrs H. R. Hotblack in the late 1950s-early 1960s (the Hotblack family used to own Michelham Priory before passing it to the Sussex Archaeological Society).
